Dhal / parippu rasam recipe



Ingredients 

1 cup of tuar / arhar daal 

2 big size tomatoes

1 tennis ball size tamarind ( imali) 

1 teaspoon cumin seeds ( jeera) 

1 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing ) 

1 teaspoon coriander

1 teaspoon black pepper

4 stalk curry leaves

½ cup fine chopped coriander leaves

Salt to taste


Method

First soak tamarind ( imali)  for 15 minutes in 4 cup of water then mash properly. 

Cook arhar daal in pressure cooker by adding 4 cup of water till 4-5 whistle after releasing pressure cool it and mash dhal well. 

Now take tomatoes wash and mash it properly by hands or masher in that tamarind ( imali) water and add Asafoetida (hing ) . 

Now prepare the rasam masala - in a grinder add 3  stalk curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves, cumin seeds ,coriander, black pepper, and  garlic just crush it don't make paste. 


Next step is that add this masala to tomato dhal mixture and boil this mixture in a kadhai or pan. 




Other side make it's tempering  heat tadaka pan add oil then mustered seed jeera , urda dhal all in quality of 1 tea spoon and  2 to 3 red chillies, 1 stalk curry leaves then add this tempering into boil dhal rasam it's done. 


 Now your parippu rasam is ready you can serve it with vada , dosa, idali, rice, chilla etc. It's yummy in teste as well as healthy too so u should try it at this Onam at your house with your family and friends.
